Today, on International Women in Engineering Day, we're celebrating the talented women who play a vital role across Jaltek and the wider engineering community.

When people think of engineering, they tend to think of design or manufacturing roles. In reality, the industry offers a huge variety of career paths, from quality and testing to project management, supply chain, production and beyond. Each plays a critical role in bringing innovative products to life.

We wanted to take this opportunity to highlight one such role and introduce you to Natasha Hunt, our Regulatory and Compliance Manager at Jaltek. Natasha helps ensure that the products we manufacture consistently meet customer and regulatory requirements for quality, reliability and performance.

Her role is a great example of the many different career opportunities available within engineering and manufacturing, and the expertise required behind the scenes to deliver high-quality products for customers.

Reflecting on her career, Natasha said:
"Engineering and manufacturing offer a huge variety of career opportunities, and you don't need a traditional engineering background to succeed. My own career began in distribution before I moved into manufacturing and quality management. I was drawn to the industry through an interest in quality, processes and continuous improvement, and I enjoy working across the business to help ensure we consistently deliver high-quality products for our customers. My advice to young women considering a career in engineering would be to keep an open mind and explore the possibilities on offer – there are far more opportunities that align with different skills and interests than many people realise.”

This year's INWED theme, Engineering Intelligence, celebrates the expertise, creativity and leadership that women contribute to engineering every day. From design and manufacturing through to quality, testing and project management, these skills are essential to driving innovation and shaping the technologies of the future.

That's why encouraging more women and girls to explore STEM subjects and consider careers in engineering remains so important. At Jaltek, we're proud to support initiatives that help inspire the next generation and showcase the wide range of opportunities our industry has to offer.

Today, we're proud to recognise the contribution of women across Jaltek and beyond, and to celebrate the impact they make on our industry every day.
